weitere Informationen/more infos | Amongst the few factory records that have survived are those that include 60-1055. These show that this chassis was despatched with a San Remo style saloon body, the car being ordered on the 22nd December 1927 and despatched from the works to the London Sales Office on 16th April 1928. The most common saloon produced was the Monaco and the San Remo was a rare model even then, so it is possible that it may have been a special order, hence the gap between order and despatch. The chassis you have appears to be a standard 9 chassis modified by a by special builder, as has been common practice for many years (since I suppose the first Thompson and Taylor car). As was common practice the earlier axles and braking system have been replaced by the Mark 4 cable brakes with larger drums. Engine and gearbox are the right period; the gear change is Brooklands type (although these were also fitted to the Gamecock model in 1932. It looks a well finished basis for a special |
